Javier Ibanez-Guzman received the M.S.E.E. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, as a Fulbright Scholar, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Reading on a SERC fellowship. In 2011, he was a Visiting Scholar with the University of California, Berkeley. He is member of the technical staff at Renault S.A., working on intelligent vehicle technologies. Formerly, he was a Senior Scientist with a SimTech, Singapore, where he spearheaded work on autonomous ground vehicles. He is a C.Eng., U.K., and a fellow of the Institute of Engineering Technology, U.K.
